Does it cost anything to join?

Absolutely not. Nigeria Consumer Panel membership is completely free. We welcome your participation in our community forums and global surveys.

What will my personal data be used for?

People are often selected to take part in a survey on the basis of certain characteristics, such as age, gender, and so forth. It is essential that surveys are representative, i.e. different groups of respondents must be represented proportionally. This is important to ensure that the correct conclusions are drawn from a survey.

Nigeria Consumer Panel reserves the right to terminate an account and/or withhold incentive payments if a member has provided incorrect or false information.

What happens with the survey results?

Businesses and government bodies make important decisions based on the survey results we obtain. Your information will be combined with data from other respondents around the world and will only be used for marketing research purposes. By combining your opinions with those of other members in 21 countries, you will be helping companies develop new products and services designed to best meet the needs of consumers.

How long does it take to complete a survey?

Nigeria Consumer Panel keeps the surveys as short as possible. An average survey contains twenty questions; answering them usually takes about ten to twenty minutes. Longer surveys will occasionally appear and we do our best to compensate you appropritely if a survey is particularly lengthy. Are you finding that a survey is taking too long to complete? Close down the survey and try again later.

What subjects are dealt with in the surveys?

Nigeria Consumer Panel conducts research regarding a wide range of subjects. We may ask for your opinion on different products and services, technology or the Internet, government and politics, leisure time and sports, and so forth.

How is this kind of survey put together?

Nigeria Consumer Panel uses questions with fixed answer options which, when put together for a survey, give an accurate representation of the opinions of the individuals surveyed around the world.

Can I fill in surveys offline?

It is essential that you are "on-line" when completing a survey. Each specific screen depends on the previous reply. We will, of course, do our utmost to keep the time needed to fill in the survey as short as possible.

Can I be registered under several e-mail addresses?

Each member is limited to one Nigeria Consumer Panel account. Nigeria Consumer Panel reserves the right to terminate an account and/or withhold incentive payments if a member has more than one Nigeria Consumer Panel account. More than one person from the same household can register; however, each member must have a separate email address to receive survey invitations.

Do I need special software to be able to take part?

Not at all. All you need is an email address and access to the Internet.

Do you ever try to sell anything via a survey?

Definitely not. Nigeria Consumer Panel was created solely for market research purposes. Your opinions will only be used to improve the products and services offered by our clients.

How long do I have to be a member once I've registered?

You are free to leave the panel at any time. As a member, you will receive access information for your personal page, where you can change your personal profile and cancel your membership too.

If I start to fill in a survey and then stop, can I carry on where I left off later?

Typically our surveys will only be "open" for a few days, so it is important to try and complete it as soon as possible after receiving an invitation. However, if you get interrupted and need to stop during a survey, you can simply go back to the survey at your convenience, enter your user name and password and the survey will begin right where you left off.

What should I do if another member is posting inappropriate content in the forum threads?

If you find that members are posting offensive comments in the forum, please use the 'report user' button. Or you can use the 'Contact Us' page and notify us immediately.

What are red flag warnings?

Community members are strictly prohibited from posting inappropriate forum content of any kind. Fellow community members are able to notify community moderators when inappropriate content has been posted. Moderators may mark your account with a red flag. This notifies community members to use caution and courtesy in their forum posts. After 3 red flags are sent, Nigeria Consumer Panel may temporarily or permanently remove your Planet Forum rights.

Why was I blocked from forum participation?

Nigeria Consumer Panel reserves the right to block members from participating in forum discussions. This normally occurs when a member has been reported for inappropriate content or behavior 3 times or more.
